Zygomatic Implants

Removable prosthesis can be replaced via zygomatic implants leading to extraordinary functional and aesthetic results. This technique was developed in Sweden and enables the patient to use the fixed prosthesis without bone graft. It is a simple and safe method, and does not represent any risk to the patient. However, it should only be done by a highly experienced dentist.

The technique prevents the patient from removing the iliac crest bone, skull arch or from another region of the body. This usually occurs when the bone loss, caused by the long-term use of denture overpressures the bone, generating strong bone re-absorption. With the zygomatic implant, the titanium cylinders are anchored and fixed to the zygomatic bone. In two or three days after the surgery the patient may use a temporary removable prosthesis. Within six months, the permanent prosthesis is placed (end of denture). It is important to clarify that the method does not substitute the traditional implant – it is actually associated with it when used in the upper arch.

Difficult oral rehab has been solved by the zygomatic implant, reaching great results – both functional and aesthetics. The prosthesis gets firmly settled with no risk of misplacement. The only requirements for the treatment’s longevity are that the patient follows the hygiene rules and the dentist’s recommendations.
