Dental Prostheses

Fixed Prostheses

In order to function well the teeth need to be balanced on the maxillary arch, as it is always under a system of forces of chewing muscles, lips, cheeks and tongue. The loss of a tooth unbalances this system and the other teeth move. Therefore, the chewing and aesthetics become thwarted. To conclude, the lost teeth need to be quickly replaced to keep the chewing system balanced.

The fixed prosthesis is a device aimed at restoring the anatomy, the function and the aesthetics of the lost or damaged teeth and its primary characteristic is to be cemented in the mouth, being removed only by the dentist.

Depending on the material used, the aesthetics results are, overall, excellent. However there are some cases in which there is a great bone loss due to a periodontal disease, so obtaining aesthetics results is more difficult.

Metal-ceramics Prostheses

These are fixed prostheses that combine porcelain and metal benefits. The porcelain can perfectly reproduce the lost tooth while the metallic structure provides a strong resistant prosthesis, enabling the production of pontics.

Before Teeth Restoration

After teeth restoration – Metal-Ceramics Prosthesis

These are fixed unitary prosthesis (or with no more than three elements), similar to Metal-Ceramic ones. The main difference is that this one has a non-metallic structure. The aesthetic results are excellent.
